PEAK is a community-based organisation working to advance the rights and well-being of Indigenous pastoralist communities in Marsabit County, Kenya.
Our work combines human rights advocacy, legal empowerment, participatory research, and humanitarian assistance. We focus particularly on strengthening communities' rights to land and natural resources. We support community land registration, partner with resource-governance institutions, and help pastoralists participate meaningfully in investment and policy decisions.
Recognising the diversity of interests within and between communities, PEAK emphasises inclusive participation, conflict sensitivity, and peaceful approaches to resolving disputes.

A future in which Indigenous pastoralist communities enjoy fully realised human rights, harmonious coexistence, and the power to shape their own futures.
To advance the rights of Indigenous pastoralist communities through legal empowerment, participatory research, and humanitarian action.
PEAK was established in response to the armed conflicts that affected Marsabit County between 2018 and 2022. Founded by Safia Soy in collaboration with other community members, PEAK aims to assist people affected by violence, displacement, and marginalisation and to address the underlying causes of conflict and insecurity. Its work has included humanitarian assistance, educational and livelihood support, and the protection of community land rights.
