Support marginalized communities in Marsabit, northern Kenya

In the vast landscapes of northern Kenya, pastoralist communities face deep-rooted challenges: poverty, marginalization, displacement, and increasingly frequent droughts. Girls and women, especially, remain at the periphery of opportunity, burdened by traditions that limit their voice, choice, and power.

  • Education & health care – we facilitate access to primary school education for children in remote areas, and advocate for delivery of maternal and child health services through mobile health clinics.
  • Humanitarian aid to internally displaced people (IDPs) – we provide food and other essential items to displaced families; dig pit latrines to improve sanitation in IDP camps; and help families pay for their childrens’ school fees, uniforms, and supplies.
  • Peace building and land protection – we help pastoralist communities gain legal recognition of their rights to own and manage their traditional lands, and facilitate inter-community dialogues to resolve conflicts over natural resources.

Our interventions are not just about meeting immediate needs — they are about restoring dignity, strengthening resilience, and creating pathways for long-term change. By combining humanitarian relief with opportunities for education, health, safety, and inspiration, we tackled the root causes of vulnerability while addressing urgent crises.

By supporting PEAK, you are joining a movement of pastoralists and partners who believe in long-term, community-rooted change. Each donation is a declaration that change is possible, dignity is non-negotiable, and that the pastoralist girl child matters.  Join us today!
